Analytical Lab Technician (Belgium)
As an Analytical Lab Technician, you ensure that our products meet the highest safety norms regarding food packaging (Food Contact Materials – FCM). You achieve this by planning, executing and reporting on chromatography-mass spectrometric analyses. You play an important role in our work on product development, quality control and regulatory work.
Location: Niel; Belgium
Your responsibilities
- Prepare samples of printing inks, raw materials, and printed packaging materials.
- Perform chemical analysis using chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS and GC/MS).
- Analyzing, processing and reporting data.
- Contribute to research projects.
- Maintain lab inventory of consumables and solvents.
- Perform routine equipment controls and minor maintenance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the efficiency, efficacy, organisation and safety of activities in the analytical laboratory.
- Informing internal customers on the progress of analyses, as well as elucidation of analytical reports.
Your profile
- You have a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or have completed a comparable laboratory education.
- You have 1 to 3 years of experience with chromatography-mass spectrometry.
- You are competent in basic laboratory techniques (pipetting, creating dilutions, complying safety prescriptions, etc.) and have basic knowledge of analytical and organic chemistry.
- You work accurately, are capable to reflect on your own work, and you love working in a structured approach.
- You are experienced with Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge or experience of other 365 tools is a plus.
- You are a great communicator in English, both oral and written. In addition, full professional command of Dutch is a big plus.
